What are Tasty Misfits?

Tasty Misfits are fruits and vegetables which are not being sold in supermarkets as they don’t fit the tight criteria in place. In most of the cases, they are not really misshapen but might be too big, too small, slightly out of shape or blemished.

They could also be surplus produce that the farmers were not able to sell and would have to throw away, for example when supermarkets change their order at the last minute.

Where and when do you deliver?

We currently service only a few postcodes in South-West London and deliver on Saturday from 7.30am to 10am. We will be expanding to other areas during the year.

Can you deliver if I am not at home?

Yes, when ordering, you can mention a specific place where you would like us to leave the box. We also usually deliver early morning so wouldn’t want to wake you up and will always leave the box in the place of your choice.

Is there a delivery fee?

Yes we charge a fee of £2.99 per order for delivery. This ensures we can pay our drivers fairly.

How do we return the boxes?

Each week we will do the swap. Just leave your empty box in your desired delivery location the night before and our drivers will collect them upon delivery.

How is Tasty Misfits cheaper?

As the misshapen fruits and vegetables are currently not being sold or being sold for cheaper in wholesale markets or sold for animal feed or processing, we are able to buy this produce at a discount and pass on the discount to our customers. We will always ensure that the farmer gets a fair price and makes a small margin.

Do you have collection points?

We don’t currently have collection points but are exploring options to provide collection points in the future.

Can I cancel or change or pause my order?

Yes, you will need to go into your account and can skip a week or change your box. If you choose to cancel, we would hate to see you leave us so if you have any issues, please get in touch with us.

Is the produce locally grown?

As much as possible, we try to minimise our carbon footprint and will work with local growers. However, there will be months when limited variety is grown locally and we might need to source from other countries in order to be able to offer you a variety of produce.

There are also fruits which do not grow at all in the UK and that we need to source internationally so we can bring you a diverse box of fresh produce. These might not be misshapen but will be surplus produce when supermarkets amend their order downwards or that growers need to keep in case supermarkets change their order at short notice.

Are the fruits and vegetables organic?

We do not currently offer all organic produce. However some of the produce offered might be organic. We are aware of the demand and expect to be able to offer organic misshapen produce very soon.

My delivery has been missed. How do I get in contact?

If you haven’t received your box or cannot find it, please email us at info@tastymisfits.com. We will respond ASAP.

How many weeks in advance can I pause my subscription ?

The website allows you to pause subscription for one week at a time. You need to go to "My account" > "Edit your subscription" and "Skip next renewal". If you want to do multiple weeks at one-time (if you are going away on a long holiday), contact us and we'll take care of it.

I would like to be a supplier. How do I get in touch?
